Trust & Safety

Good trips start with
clear expectations.

DVCnow makes it easier for DVC owners and travelers to find one another. Every rental is still a direct, private arrangement between the people involved.

Know the role we play

DVCnow is a connection point—not a party to your rental.

We do not process payments, provide contracts, hold funds in escrow, guarantee reservations, or independently verify ownership, identities, availability, or the terms agreed between members. Take the time to make sure an arrangement is right for you before any money changes hands.

A safer way to connect

Use the tools, then use your judgment.

01

Keep early conversations here

Use DVCnow discussions to review listing details and agree on the basics. Do not post phone numbers, email addresses, payment handles, or account details in a public listing or trip request.

02

Confirm the stay details

Before payment, confirm the resort, room type, dates, total price, point amount, guest name, and how reservation confirmation will be shared. For a confirmed stay, the traveler should receive confirmation in their name.

03

Agree on written terms

A written agreement can prevent avoidable misunderstandings. At a minimum, cover payment timing, any deposit, cancellation and change terms, refund expectations, and what happens if availability changes.

04

Choose payment carefully

Discuss payment privately. Consider whether the method and transaction are eligible for protections, confirm the provider's terms yourself, and understand that some transfer methods may be difficult or impossible to reverse.

05

Research before you commit

Review the member's profile and completed transaction feedback when available. Ask respectful questions, request references if appropriate, and never feel pressured to move faster than you are comfortable with.

06

Pause when something feels off

Be cautious of pressure, inconsistent details, requests to pay immediately, or offers that seem unusually good. If you are not comfortable with the arrangement, do not send payment.

Before marking an arrangement complete

A quick check for both sides.

  • Listing and reservation details match what was discussed.
  • Payment amount, timing, deposit, and refund terms are understood in writing.
  • Both parties know what happens if plans or availability change.
  • Private contact or payment details were not posted publicly.
  • You are comfortable proceeding—without pressure.
