How it works

Start with the points.
Find your connection.

New to Disney Vacation Club? Here is how points become a stay—and how DVCnow helps owners and travelers find one another.

First, the basics

What are DVC points?

Disney Vacation Club (DVC) is Disney’s vacation ownership program. Members use Vacation Points to book eligible accommodations. When you rent a stay from an owner, the owner uses their membership and points to arrange a reservation for you. You do not need to buy a DVC membership to rent a stay.

WHERE

The resort and room

Each resort has its own point chart. A studio, a larger villa, or a particular view category can require different numbers of points.

WHEN

The season and night

Point requirements vary with travel dates. Different times of year—and different days of the week—can have different nightly point values.

HOW LONG

The whole stay

Add the points for each night of your stay. Use the chart for your travel year, resort, room type, and view to estimate the total.

Plan with the source

Explore Disney’s official point charts.

Choose your resort and travel year on Disney’s site. Charts explain the points a stay requires; they do not show whether a room is available. An owner still needs to confirm availability and booking eligibility for your exact stay.

Points and dollars

What does a rental cost?

The points needed for a reservation and the rental price are separate things. Owners set their asking prices. A confirmed reservation may have a total asking price, while flexible points are generally offered at a price per point.

100 points × $20 per point = $2,000

Then, the connection

DVCnow brings both sides together.

DVCnow is an independent community marketplace for owners with points or reservations to offer and travelers looking for a stay. Start with an offer, or tell owners what you are hoping to find.

01

Browse a confirmed stay

A confirmed reservation already has a resort, room type, and specific dates. Review its points, total asking price, and terms, then message the owner about that stay.

Browse stays →
02

Explore flexible points

A flexible offer lists points an owner can use toward a reservation. Discuss resorts and dates together. Expiring points have a hard use-by date; the trip must fit those restrictions.

Post a trip request

Share your destination, dates, preferred resorts, travel party, and dollar budget. Review possible listing matches or hear from owners who may be able to help. A match is a starting point, not confirmed availability.

From hello to a stay

Talk it through.
Agree on the details.

  1. Connect in a discussion. Sign in to message an owner or respond to a traveler’s request. Keep the relevant listing attached so both sides know what is being discussed.
  2. Confirm the arrangement. Review availability, dates, room type, guest details, total price, deposit, payment timing, and cancellation or change terms. Put your agreement in writing.
  3. Arrange the reservation and payment privately. The owner manages the reservation through their membership. Renting a stay does not transfer a DVC membership to the traveler.
  4. Keep your posts up to date. Owners can mark an offer filled and record final details. Travelers can mark their trip request fulfilled. Eligible members can leave feedback after a recorded transaction.

Make an informed connection.

DVCnow does not process payments, provide contracts, hold funds, or guarantee members or reservations. Each rental is a direct arrangement between the owner and traveler. Read our guidance before sending money or committing to a stay.
